WHAT WE OFFER

Find your starting point

Whether you have never touched a drum or you are working on complex arrangements, there is a class for where you are right now

Djembe Fundamentals

This is where most people begin. Over roughly a month you will learn the three core sounds, basic rhythms, and the signals that hold a group together.

---------

Fridays 16:30 — 17:30 · Bass, tone, slap · Call and échauffement

First Timer Intro

A short 15-minute introduction before Fundamentals. You will hold the drum, find the sounds, and feel ready to join the group.

---------

Fridays 16:15 — 16:30

Djembe

For those comfortable with the basics and ready to go deeper. Each month focuses on a single rhythm, solo techniques, arrangements and breaks.

---------

Fridays 17:40 — 18:40 · Tuesdays 17:00 — 18:00

West African Dance with Alky

Traditional Guinean dance to live djembe and dundun drums. A fun way to connect movement and rhythm.

YOUR FACILITATOR

Jack Strand, facilitator & founder

Jack Strand has been playing and teaching West African djembe for over a decade. He started Djembe Denmark because he believes the drum does something no team exercise can fake: it puts people in the same moment, strips away the role they walked in with, and lets them be seen.

Alky Plus, West African Dance

A professional dancer and choreographer from Guinea Conakry, trained at the National Guinean Academy of Arts. Alky founded his own dance company in Dubreka in 2012 and has performed across Africa and Europe. His classes are high energy, joyful, and always live.
